Sadie Engelhardt knows the results of the 55th Arcadia Invitational could certainly alter the landscape of girls high school distance running this season, including her own performance April 8 at Arcadia High.

But the sophomore from Ventura High in California can celebrate starting the month of April as the national prep leader in four events, the most recent addition to her resume coming Saturday in the gold section of the girls 800 meters at the West Coast Relays at Buchanan High’s Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Engelhardt clocked 2 minutes, 6.71 seconds, just off her personal-best 2:05.66 from the same meet last year, supporting her 4:39.11 in the 1,600, 4:41.06 in the mile and 9:51.49 in the 3,200 in the past month.
