Nick Godbehere, a junior at Shafter High in California, won the boys invitational shot put with a lifetime-best effort of 61 feet (18.59m) in the second round, improving on his own state lead at the West Coast Relays at Veterans Memorial Stadium at Buchanan High in Clovis, Calif.
